In case anyone was wondering where this (still unflagged) work came from, it’s simply known as “Portrait of Gabrielle d’Estrées and Her Sister, the Duchess of Villars” painted by an unknown artist c. 1594. Gabrielle The Pinchable was the mistress of King Henry IV of France (to be fair, the guy had been forced into an arranged marriage and was separated from his wife. He wanted to marry Gabrielle legally but she died before he could get an annulment). It is currently on view at the Louvre, and you can learn more about it here.
