so i’ve seen some speculation about catra being represented by one of the princess holograms in s1e12

but i don’t think this is actually the case for a few reasons.

1) body type

this character (henceforth “X”) is like. thicker than catra and looks to have proportionally shorter legs

here’s a shot of catra from a similar angle. she’s shaped differently. and X’s tail almost looks longer but that might be a reach?

2) hair

the silhouette of this character’s hair is sleeker than catra’s.

her ear is also turned downward! catra’s ears are usually upturned, except when she’s upset. since these holograms seem to represent the princesses’ “default state,” and we know catra’s “default state” is upturned ears, that’s further evidence that X is not catra and actually someone else.

3) lore

not a big point but worth mentioning i think… catra isn’t a princess in 80s motu. in the old she-ra, catra’s mask is a gift, given to her by hordak and stolen from the queen of the magicats, which enables catra to turn into a panther. catra herself isn’t royal in any way (although she does pretend to be the queen).

so that’s all i’ve got! i might turn out to be totally wrong. we’ll just have to wait and see 🙂
